Islejarl is a game that is not open yet. Right now the only thing we collect is what you type into the waiting list box on the front page. This page explains what that is and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Your email address.
- The username you picked.
- Your tick that you are 13 or older, and that a parent or guardian knows if you are under 18.
- The time you signed up and the time you confirmed your email.
- A scrambled fingerprint of your internet address. We cannot turn it back into the address. We use it only to spot people who sign up hundreds of times.
We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this site.
Why we collect it
- To send you the six digit code that proves the email is yours.
- To hold your username for you until 30 days after launch.
- To email you when the game opens. That is the only kind of message we plan to send from this list.
- To keep out bots and repeat sign-ups.
Who can see it
We do not sell your details or hand them to advertisers. The list is stored on our web host, DreamHost, in the United States. Confirmation emails go out through that host. If we move email sending to a delivery service such as Brevo, that service will handle your address only to deliver our messages, and we will update this page first.
The site sits behind Cloudflare, which filters bad traffic and runs the short safety check on the sign-up box. Cloudflare sees the visits it filters and may set its own cookie for that check.
How long we keep it
- A sign-up you never confirm is deleted after 24 hours.
- Confirmed sign-ups stay until 30 days after the game launches. After that, an unclaimed name is released and the address is deleted unless you have made an account.
- Codes are stored only as scrambled values and stop working after 10 minutes.
Your choices
You can leave the list whenever you like. Write to [email protected] and we will delete your email and username. You can also ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
Age
Islejarl is for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian knows you are signing up. If you think a child under 13 has joined, write to us and we will delete the entry.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters, we will change the date at the top and tell people on the list by email.
